EuroGames 2012 Budapest
Dear Organizers of Belgrade Pride,
The EuroGames 2012 Budapest team would like to express its full support to your work in delivering the annual Belgrade Pride Festival. We support your efforts especially in hosting the pride parade through the streets of the Serbian capital. Pride parades are the biggest annual celebration of our community all over the world, where we can show ourselves, promote diversity and tolerance. Nobody has the right to question our rights to express ourselves and our ideas in the public spaces of our own cities.
The EuroGames 2012 Budapest organizing team will host the biggest LGBTQ sport event ever organized in Central and Eastern Europe. We are expecting thousands of athletes and visitors to Hungary for sports, conferences, culture and fun from 27th June until 1st July 2012. Apart from promoting sports and healthy life, we also would like to promote human rights, increase visibility and awareness of the LGBTQ community.
We know, that you are not working in a very LGBTQ-friendly environment, and you have also experienced extreme hostility in your society. We respect your for not giving up your ideas and your fight for your rights. Our representative will join you at the parade and march with you in October.
